From Cinque Terre, we drove 6 hours north to Cortina d'Ampezzo, an alpine village in the heart of the southern Alps (Dolomites.) Along the way, we stopped at two castles - Buonconsiglio Castle in Trento and Taufers Castle.
Buonconsiglio Castle served as a residence for prince-bishops from the 13th century to the end of the 18th century.
Heading to the next castle... the lovely countryside.

Unforunately, Taufers had JUST closed by the time we arrived... here is Dan looking very sad that we can't get in.
