Banff Vacation - Day 5

One of my favorite days of our vacation was hiking around Lake Louise. Due to the wildfires south and west of us, there was a lot of haze many of the days we were in Canada. But the day we went to Lake Louise, the sky was clear blue.

Chateau Lake Louise
Ready to hike!

You'd never know it, but this area was packed with tourists!

We started our hike which took us alongside Lake Louise...

Marcus walked the entire lakeside trail by himself!

After we passed the lake, the trail was considerably less crowded and we continued our 3.4 mile hike up to the Plain of Six Glaciers Tea House, the convergence of Mount Lefroy, Mount Victoria and the Victoria Glacier.

We finally made it to the Plain of Six Glaciers Tea House, 1530 feet above elevation and built in 1924. We enjoy a small lunch, tea and a delicious caramel apple pound cake! After that, we started the trek back down!

Still going strong!

We made it!!

Now time for some ice cream!

A rare moment... Marcus sharing his ice cream cone with Alex.

Again... there were people all around but this picture makes it look just the opposite!!
