We arrived in Florence on what was probably the hottest day of our trip... temps were near 100 degrees!
Below is the famed Ponte Vecchio - "Old Bridge." It was the only bridge that was not destroyed in Florence during WWII. Today, the bridge is home to many jewelry and artisan craft shops.

Our first glimpse of the gorgeous Duomo di Firenze and Bell Tower.

Dan and Laurie decided to make the climb to the top of the Duomo. Marcus took a solid 2 hour nap while we waited.

The next day we left our home in Montichiello and headed to Pisa!
Of course, we had to get the obigatory "holding up the Leaning Tower shots"
The Leaning Tower, which took 177 years to build. It leans approximately 4 degrees, and started leaning just 5 years into construction when work began on the third story. It was left unfinished for 100 years before construction resumed.
Coming around to church, the Baptistery came into view.
