Iceland - July 2024

Stopped at this geothermal bakery called Laugarvatn Fontana a rye bread tasting.The bread is baked in the ground for 24 hours and then served with thick slabs of Icelandic butter. 

We visited a tomato farm and restaurant

The lobby of the inn had a chess board, pool table and lovely seating area. We spent the evening here before heading back to our house.

Day 2: We head out to Snaefellsnes, the western peninsula of Iceland. 

Right outside then church there was a small swingset and a waffle stand.

We went to the top for the views.

After some mid-day naps at the hotel, we felt re-energized and ventured to the city.  Our first stop was Hallgrimskirkja in the center of the city. 

We enjoyed some lamb stew and tomato soup while the rain came down.

We experience our first ice cave where it was 14 degrees!

Day 1: The boys and I landed in Reykjavik very early in the morning. After a quick breakfast at the airport, we rented the car and headed straight to the Perlan museum.
