Marcus gave a warm hello to all the stuffed animals in the house :)
On Friday (as part of Dave's birthday gift from Tena, Jay, Julie, Dan and I) Dave and Dan got to drive construction equipment at the Extreme Sandbox! Marcus even got in on the fun and got to sit in a firetruck that was on site.
Marcus thanks the staff for turning on the lights and sirens to complete his experience!
Now, let's go dig!
Dave and Dan get situated in their excavators and prepare to dig giant holes.
It wasn't all fun and games. Next was a test of skill to see if they could knock basketballs off the top of their dirt piles. Both succeeded!
Then they had to refill their holes with dirt.
The challenges continued with having to pick up a ball from a cone.
And later one, picking up a car.
Marcus offered a little guidance to the guys...
Next up: Bulldozers!
Dave had no problem driving over his dirt pile... well done!
And even though they said it wasn't possible, it looked like Dan's bulldozer was going to tip over!
All done and back to the firetruck for some more photo opps!
Later that day, we headed to Falconer Vineyards & Winery in Red Wing where we tasted wine and enjoyed delicious pizza!
And to top it off, we headed into downtown Red Wing where we made a stop at the St. James Hotel for drinks and dessert.
Marcus gave hugs to everyone at the table...
....before ordering us all to take naps.
My chocolate dipped peanut butter mousse with banana ice cream and peanut brittle. YUM!
We then headed to the riverfront and watched the fish splash in the water.
The weekend came to an end with dinner at Lake Elmo Inn - a beautiful restaurant with superb food! Marcus really enjoyed spinning the turntable and watching his sippy cup go around, and around, and around.
