Fourth of July in Michigan

So.... I'm just getting around to posting some pictures from the summer. Yikes! This one's from way back in July when our friend Kurt invited Dan, myself, along with our friends Anand and Jessica, up to Bridgman, Mich. - a town right on Lake Michigan and next to the Warren Dunes State Park - for Fourth of July weekend with his family.

We had an awesome time - spent time at the beach, hiked the dunes, enjoyed bonfires, games, go-cart racing, fireworks... what more could you want? Here are some pictures from four fabulous days in MI.

Kurt, Jessica, Anand, Dan and me

Kurt and Dan hoof it to the top of the dune before running down...

The guys get some volleyball in at the beach while the rest of us worked on our tans

After a long day in the sun, we were exhausted.

Dan tests a homemade device to launch fireworks...

Safety first!!

Kurt and I find some prime seating before the fireworks

We ended the night with sparklers

Kurt retells the story of how the fireworks exploded

Back at the beach, Kurt and Dan get some frisbee in.

And later than night, we built a terrific bonfire and had smores.

The next day, we hit the batting cages and went go-cart racing...

And later on, Kurt introduced us to the game of nails, where you one sweeping motion, you must toss a hammer in the air, catch it and hit a nail into an old stump. This game was quite addicting.

In this game, Jessica celebrates a victory over Anand.

All was going well, until Kurt got injured. Poor Kurt!

Dan seranaded him to make him feel better... or to laugh.
