Sister Trip to NYC!

Andrea and I had a fabulous time in NYC! While we were there, we saw two Broadway shows, went to museums, took in the city sights and visited with my college friend Tina and her family. Great times!

During our first day in the city, Tina met up with us and took us all around Time Square and NYC's Garment District.

We got to meet Tina's friend and fashion designer Rolando Santana at his studio.

Day 2: Rockafeller Center, Fifth Avenue, Central Park, Guggenheim, Metropolitan Museum of Art and Grand Central Station - phew!

Ahh... my favorite jewelry store in the whole wide world. Of course, we had to go in :)

              The famous Guggenheim... we didn't spend much time here.. actually, only a few minutes.

Last stop of the day: Grand Central Station for dinner

Day 3: We headed over to Battery Park where we took a ride on the Staten Island Ferry. Since the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island was (and still is) closed due to Hurricane Sandy, this was the closest we got. Oh well, we'll just have to come back some day!

After the Ferry, we spent the rest of the morning walking around the Financial District.

Later that morning, we headed over to the World Trade Center Memorial

After a quick lunch, we walked around Macy's and made our way back to Times Square where we scored front row tickets to Mama Mia.  What a great way to celebrated Andrea's birthday. We headed out to dinner before the show and enjoyed a lovely chocolate dessert!

The next morning, after wandering around Bryant Park, we met up with Tina, Wayne and their daughter Sydney for brunch. I ordered lemon blueberry pancakes - yum!

After that, we made a stop at Junior's, home of the original cheesecake, in Brooklyn.

Tina and Wayne took us around Brooklyn and then we had NY-style pizza that night for dinner. On our last day, we had a leisurely morning, catching up and playing with Sydney before we headed to the airport to go home.
