A few weeks back, Dan and I drove about 2.5 hours south of St. Louis to Johnson's Shut-Ins State Park. The shut-ins (otherwise known as water from the East Fork of the Black River that flows through the narrow gaps between boulders) were a nice place for scrambling and splashing.
