Boarding and Skiing in Utah!

Dan and I headed to Salt Lake City last week for skiing and snowboarding! We spent out first day out at Park City Mountain Resort.

I chow down on some chili while Dan looks over the trail map.

After a full day on the mountain, we headed into the village for some apres ski action.

Later that evening we headed back to Salt Lake City and listened to the Tabernacle Choir. After that, we met up Anand, our friend from St. Louis, and his sister Ellie and her husband Eric, who just moved to SLC last summer. The next day, Dan, Anand, Ellie and I went to Brighton Ski Resort, about 40 minutes southeat of the city. The drive took us through beautiful winding canyons.
Dan, me, Ellie and Anand, just before our first run of the day.
Here's me, Ellie and Anand, coming down a hill.

The next day, the four of us, and Ellie's husband Eric, went to Snowbasin Ski Resort, where many of the 2002 Winter Olympic events took place. The Lodge was gorgeous!!

For our last night with Anand and his family, we went to a great Mexican restaurant in SLC.

Sunday afternoon, Dan and I drove back to Park City - some views along the way.

Downton Park City was fun to walk around - lots of shops and good restaurants.
Dan was able to snag us a room at the new Waldorf Astoria in Park City for the last night of our vacation. The lobby and outdoor firepits were pretty sweet.

Dan relaxing...

Dan and I enjoy a little champaign at the restaurant before dinner.

As we drove from the hotel to downtown Park City for dinner, we saw that some of the trails were lit up for night skiiing - pretty cool!
A view of River Horse Restaurant while we wait to get seated.

Dan just had to try on the hotel slippers before we left :)
Our last activity of the trip was a visit to the Olympic Park and museum.

Dan carries the Olympic torch!!

Luge and bobseld
The head of a buffalo used for the opening ceremonys, and the Olympic medals.
We thought we'd get one more run in before we left!
