Skiing in Whistler!

Dan, Kurt Laura and I spent a week in Whistler, Canada for some skiiing. Though the mountains lacked fresh snow (it was in the 40s at the TOP of the mountains), and were a bit icy in places, we had a good time... and managed to not injure ourselves. We arrived in Vancouver Saturday afternoon and drove up to Whistler. On the way we stopped at Shannon Falls and took pictures of the waterway and islands that line the west coast.

Our first day we hit Blackcomb Mtn. This is us right before our first run.

Here, Nina indicates which way the girls will be taking down...

Tired from their gruelling green runs, the girls take a "time out"

This is the back of Roundhouse Lodge, where we ate lunch

Sunday night we watched the Whistler Fire and Ice Show, which featured skiiers and snowboarders jumping through a ring of fire. It was pretty cool!

This picture shows us just moments after we'd conquered the glacier - we came down the unusually rocky hill in the background...

The top of Blackcomb around 2:30 in the afternoon - the best part of this trip was the constant lack of people, which meant runs were pretty wide open, and there was no waiting in lift lines.

Glacier Creek Lodge - Never actually went into this one...

Here we are in line at the tube park! The nice Aussie boys at the top of the hill got us spinning super fast.

A scary view from Whistler's newest gondola - the Peak2Peak, which runs from Whistler to Blackcomb. It was an 11 minute ride.
